Biography

Michael Dorsch is the Lynda S. Welage Collegiate Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Michigan, where he is also an Associate Professor of Pharmacy and a Clinical Pharmacist in Inpatient Pharmacy Services. He specializes in digital health and his current research focuses on patient-provider centered clinical decision support. Dorsch earned his PharmD from Ohio Northern University and completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, followed by a PGY2 cardiology specialty residency at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill. He also holds an MS in clinical research design and statistical analysis from the University of Michigan, supported by an institutional K30 award from the Michigan Institute for Clinical & Health Research. Dorsch is Board Certified as a Cardiology Pharmacist and has been named a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the American Heart Association, and the American College of Cardiology. His accolades include the 2016 Professional Practice Award from the Michigan Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and a Top Paper Award for Population Science at the 2011 Hypertension Conference. Dorsch’s research interests encompass Health Information Technology, mHealth, Clinical Decision Support, Computable Biomedical Knowledge, Cardiovascular Disease Outcomes Research, Quality Improvement, Health Services Research, and Educational Research.
