Dr. Michael Earing

Biography

Michael G. Earing is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Chicago, specializing in adult congenital heart disease and related cardiogenetics. He completed his medical education at Rush University, followed by internal medicine and pediatric residency training. He furthered his expertise with training in adult congenital heart disease and pediatric cardiology at the Mayo Clinic. Over his 16-year career, he has served as Medical Director for the Wisconsin Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin, managing care for approximately 3,000 patients annually. Earing has published more than 90 manuscripts and served on numerous national boards to enhance care for patients with congenital heart diseases, Marfan syndrome, connective tissue disorders, and pulmonary hypertension. In 2020, he was named a Professor in both internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Chicago-Medicine and also serves as the Chief of Cardiology at the Chicagoland Children’s Health Alliance, collaborating with several healthcare institutions. His research interests encompass a variety of topics within adult congenital heart disease, emphasizing clinical outcomes and innovative treatment approaches. Earing continues to contribute significantly to the field through his clinical practice and research endeavors.
