Biography

Associate Professor Michael Fitzharris is an Associate Director of Regulation for In-depth Crash Investigations at the Accident Research Centre affiliated with Monash University. He holds an honorary staff position at the National Trauma Research Institute Alfred. A former employee of the George Institute for Global Health, he was engaged in research focusing on health outcomes following trauma and pre-hospital care, conducting randomized controlled trials in intensive care units. He remains active in road safety research, specializing in topics such as drug and drink driving, mental health related to injury, and vehicle design regulations. Michael is a member of several prominent road safety organizations and has published extensively in both governmental and academic contexts.
