Biography

Michael R. Gibbons is the I.W. Burnham II Professor of Investment Banking at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has been a faculty member at Wharton since 1989 and has held several administrative roles, including Deputy Dean from 2007 to 2021 and Chairperson of the Finance Department from 1994 to 2006. Gibbons earned his PhD in 1980 and MS in 1979 from the University of Chicago, and a BS from Butler University in 1975.
