Biography

Michael Hatridge is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Physics at Yale University. He obtained his B.S. degree from Texas A&M University and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. His research primarily focuses on quantum effects in readout processes for superconducting qubits, tackling the challenges of achieving high-fidelity readout in quantum information processing. Hatridge leads the Hatlab, which employs parametric drives to create quantum controls, including single- and multi-qubit gates through engineered baths. His work explores the use of parametric couplers for the development of modular quantum computers and aims to build quantum-limited parametric amplifiers to study high-fidelity projective qubit readout. Hatridge has held several notable positions, including Director at the Pittsburgh Quantum Institute and currently serves as Deputy Director of the Yale Quantum Institute. He has received numerous awards, including the Michelson Postdoctoral Fellowship and the NSF Career Award. Throughout his career, Hatridge has contributed to significant publications in the field of quantum information and has been recognized for his research contributions.
