Biography

Michael Iv is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Radiology at Stanford University and has dedicated his career to advancing the field of neuroradiology. He completed his medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, followed by a residency in radiology at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and a neuroradiology fellowship at Stanford. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Neuroradiology. His primary research interests lie in using advanced MRI techniques to explore the brain tumor microenvironment and enhance diagnostic capabilities for monitoring tumor responses to treatment. This includes innovative applications of ferumoxytol-enhanced MRI to image tumor-associated macrophages and perfusion MRI for assessing tumor vascularity and neoangiogenesis. He has received various grants to support his research endeavors, including the Radiological Society of North America Research Scholar Grant. In addition to his research, he has published extensively, including co-editing a two-volume book on glioblastoma and authoring a book on neuroradiology. He currently directs Clinical Translational Research in the Department of Radiology and the Brain Tumor Imaging at the Stanford Brain Tumor Center.
