Michael Joseph served as co-PI on federally funded grants related to heterosexual Black men's HIV transmission risks. He is a highly regarded teacher and curricular innovator recognized with the prestigious SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2013. Over the past decade, he has taught the American Public Health Association Learning Institute course 'Biostatistics for Non-Statisticians,' which aims to fill the gap in public health proficiency for students with varying levels of knowledge, skills, and expertise.
