Michael Kelly earned a Bachelor of Science from SUNY Buffalo and a Ph.D. from Princeton University, where he studied photochemistry and electrochemistry. He was a member of the founding scientific team at Millennium Cell, an alternative energy start-up, and holds over 30 patents in the alternative energy sector. After ten years in the industry, Kelly returned to Princeton in 2008 to pursue a teaching career.
