Dr. Michael Kidd

Biography

Professor Michael Kidd is an Australian primary care researcher and medical educator specializing in global health and family medicine. He currently holds the position of Chair at the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto and serves as the Director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Family Medicine and Primary Care. His extensive research interests encompass various aspects of primary care, including digital health and mental health, and he is actively involved in health policy and the education of health professionals. Additionally, Professor Kidd has held esteemed positions such as Senior Innovation Fellow at the Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care at Women’s College Hospital in Toronto, and he has been recognized as a visiting scholar at the Robert Graham Center for Policy Studies in Family Medicine and Primary Care in Washington, DC. His contributions to the field have earned him honors including being made a Member of the Order of Australia for his services to medicine and education. He has also served as past President of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA).
