Dr. Michael Kwa

Biography

Michael Kwa, MD, serves as an Assistant Professor at the Boston Medical Center in the Dermatology department. He completed his medical degree at Northwestern University Medical School and obtained his bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College. Alongside his academic pursuits, Dr. Kwa has engaged in community service, notably with the Keep Heart Healthy program in Chicago, where he volunteered to provide blood pressure screenings in underserved communities. He served on a student advisory committee, voicing student input in meetings with faculty and advocating for the continuation of vital health initiatives. In addition, Dr. Kwa has volunteered at Cabrini Clinic in Detroit, offering dermatologic care to uninsured adults and mentoring medical students. His research interests focus on dermatologic agents, dermatomyositis, and psoriasis, as well as economic aspects of healthcare including drug costs and cost savings.
