Biography

Michael Leslie is a Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Yale University School of Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from The College of the Holy Cross in 1993 and then pursued his medical education at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 2004. His residency in Orthopaedic Surgery was completed at the Peninsula Hospital Consortium in 2009, followed by subspecialty training in Orthopaedic Traumatology at the University of California, Davis, in 2010. Leslie joined the full-time faculty at Yale University School of Medicine in the same year and has since specialized in the care and surgical treatment of multiply injured patients as part of the multidisciplinary Trauma Team at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was appointed Chief of Orthopaedic Trauma at Yale in 2019 and serves as Vice Chair of Quality and Safety in his department. His clinical expertise includes pelvic-acetabular fracture repair and treatment of joint reconstruction and fracture problems. His research interests focus on optimizing treatment for unstable pelvic ring injuries and the use of osteoinductive agents in this context. Leslie is actively engaged in medical education and community involvement activities, helping to train the next generation of orthopedic surgeons.
