Dr. Michael Lohmeier

Biography

Michael Lohmeier is an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois. Following his medical education, he completed a residency in emergency medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, where he also served as chief resident during his final year. Lohmeier further specialized by completing a fellowship in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at Washington University, concentrating on tactical medicine. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services. His leadership roles include serving as the Lead Medical Director for Ground Emergency Medical Services and overseeing medical direction for EMS in Sun Prairie and Waunakee. His research interests encompass prehospital care, mass casualty preparedness, fireground rehabilitation, and education for physician paramedics.
