Biography

Professor Michael Lunn is a full-time Consultant Neurologist and Clinical Lead in Neuroimmunology at the National Hospital for Neurology in London, with an extensive background in the field. He previously served as the Joint Coordinating Editor for the Cochrane Neuromuscular Disease Group. Lunn trained at prestigious institutions including Cambridge (Emmanuel College) and various centers in London such as Charing Cross Westminster and Guy’s Kings St Thomas. His clinical practice, which began in 2005, focuses on inflammatory peripheral nerve diseases, and his research interests encompass the pathogenesis and treatment of conditions including CIDP, MMNCB, and vasculitis. He has developed a particular interest in neuropathies associated with hematological disorders, overseeing the UK’s Neuro-Haematology clinic that addresses paraproteinaemic neurology. The COVID-19 pandemic has further expanded his research interests to include immunological disease responses and related neurological complications. Lunn is also dedicated to various professional bodies, having held roles such as Ex-President of the British Peripheral Nerve Society and Ex-Chair of the Association of British Neurologists Neuromuscular Academic Advisory Board.
