Dr. Michael Manulak

Biography

Michael W. Manulak is an Associate Professor at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, specializing in the areas of international organizations, multilateral diplomacy, Canadian foreign policy, global environmental politics, and non-proliferation. His academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Toronto, followed by a Master's degree from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University, culminating in a Doctorate in International Relations from the University of Oxford at St. Antony's College. His research is widely recognized, including his book 'Change Global Environmental Politics: Temporal Focal Points Reform International Institutions,' published by Cambridge University Press in 2022, which won the Chadwick Alger Prize from the International Studies Association. Manulak’s extensive experience includes serving in the Canadian government, particularly in the Department of National Defence, where he contributed to national security assessments and international proliferation security negotiations. He is affiliated as a Fellow at the Balsillie School of International Affairs and has published works in significant journals including Foreign Affairs and Global Governance.
