Dr. Michael Mehl

Biography

Michael J. Mehl is an Assistant Research Professor in the Thomas Lord Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Duke University. He received his Ph.D. from Indiana University Bloomington in 1980. Dr. Mehl's research interests primarily focus on Computational Materials Science, specifically utilizing Density Functional Theory to explore various materials, such as inorganic compounds, superconducting materials, and crystal structures. His notable publications encompass a wealth of works in the field, including contributions to the understanding of high-temperature superconductors and the development of various computational frameworks for materials discovery.
