Biography

Michael Menchine, MD, MPH is a Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine and Executive Vice Chair at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. He completed his residency in Internal Emergency Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles and later pursued a Health Sciences Research Fellowship in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UCLA. In 2009, he became faculty at the Keck School, working clinically in the emergency department at LAC+USC Hospital. His research focuses on clinical observations and social policy determinants of disease, as well as emergency department utilization and management. Dr. Menchine has contributed to numerous publications addressing issues such as chronic pain management, mental health crises in emergency settings, diabetes management technologies, and the implications of policy on patient outcomes.
