Biography

Michael C. Milone, M.D., Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He has a B.S. in Chemical Biology from Stevens Institute of Technology, and both his M.D. and Ph.D. in Experimental Pathology/Immunology from UMDNJ. Dr. Milone's research focuses on T cell biology, particularly in the context of genetically-engineered T cells for disease treatment. His active research projects include the development of chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) and synthetic immunoreceptors to enhance the efficacy and safety of adoptive T cell therapy, as well as investigating the role of co-stimulatory signals in T cell metabolism and function in tumors. He also has clinical expertise in areas such as Clinical Laboratory Toxicology, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, and Clinical Chemistry.
