Biography

Michael Minor is an instructor in the Inner City Social Work Program at the University of Manitoba. He teaches and studies the resistance to settler-colonial violence through literature. Originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario, he has strong ties to Peterborough and St. John’s. As a poet and songwriter, he is committed to bridging the gap between the humanities and professional training in social work. Minor’s book of poetry, 'Learning Love River,' was published by Signature Editions. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in English from the University of Manitoba obtained in 2016, a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature from Memorial University of Newfoundland from 2011, and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in English Literature and Politics from Trent University in 2008.
