Dr. Michael Munger

Biography

Michael C. Munger is the Pfizer, Inc./Edmund T. Pratt, Jr. University Distinguished Professor of Political Science at Duke University. He has been a faculty member since 2000 and also holds appointments in the Departments of Economics and Sanford School of Public Policy. His primary research focuses on market functioning, regulation, and government institutions, drawing on his extensive experience as a former staff economist for the Federal Trade Commission during the Reagan Administration. Munger has also taught at Dartmouth College, the University of Texas, and the University of North Carolina, where he served as Director of the Master of Public Administration Program. He has held notable roles such as President of the Public Choice Society and has contributed to various academic publications discussing economics and regulatory frameworks.
