Biography

Michael Nippe is an Associate Professor at Texas A&M University in the College of Arts and Sciences, specializing in the field of chemistry. His research focuses on inorganic molecular approaches that contribute to the development of novel systems for solar energy conversion and small molecule activation, as well as molecules for information storage. Nippe employs synthetic methods that form the foundation of his research group, complemented by a broad array of spectroscopic and electrochemical techniques. He seeks students who are interested in creative inorganic synthesis and exploring structure-function relationships in catalysis, particularly in the context of electronic structures of heterometallic d-block and f-block complexes, as well as molecular species with unusual charges. He holds a Diploma from the Technical University of Berlin, completed in 2007, and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, obtained in 2011. In recognition of his contributions to the field, he was awarded the 2012 ACS DIC Young Investigator Award.
