Biography

Michael Nunn is a Professor at the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs and the School of Interactive Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is the Executive Director of the Institute for People and Technology (IPaT) and directs the Technologies and International Development Lab. Nunn has extensive experience in the intersection of technology and international development. He was the founding director of the United Nations University Institute in Computing and Society (UNU-CS) located in Macau SAR, China. Additionally, he has served as director of Media Lab Asia in India and led the eDevelopment group at the MIT Media Lab. Nunn holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as well as a Master's and Bachelor's degree from MIT and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), respectively. His research interests include Information Communication Technologies for development, international diffusion of innovation, and science and technology policy, with a geographic focus on regions such as Sub-Saharan Africa, East and South Asia, and Latin America.
