Michael Parent is a recognized expert in Corporate Governance in Canada, with a focus on cybersecurity governance. He has been a professor at the Segal Graduate School of Business at Simon Fraser University since 2002 and held the position of Vice-Dean at the Telfer School of Management from 2015 to 2017. His background includes a decade in the high technology industry, specializing in new product development, marketing, and management. He is an active researcher and executive educator, teaching programs for federal and provincial governments and various public and private companies. Michael has advised over 100 Boards on issues related to cybersecurity governance and currently acts as Academic Director for Directors’ Education Programs across Canada for the ICD. He co-led the Ottawa cohort and teaches the Cybersecurity Risk module nationally. Michael's research interests encompass IT & Cybersecurity Governance, Corporate Governance, and Wine Marketing.
