Biography

Michael Pisaric is a Professor in the Department of Geography and Tourism Studies at Brock University. His research focuses on paleoecological techniques, particularly lake-sediment analysis which includes the study of fossil pollen and dendrochronology. He has conducted research in various regions across the world, including Siberia, western Canada, and Montana in the USA. His ongoing research projects primarily explore the Northwest Territories and southeast British Columbia, investigating the impacts of climate change on Arctic ecosystems, landscape evolution, and various aspects of paleolimnology. Pisaric is actively engaged in teaching physical geography and research methods, as well as advanced fluvial geomorphology. He co-founded the Water and Environmental Laboratory, further enhancing his commitment to environmental research and education.
