Biography

Michael Edward Potter is a Teaching Professor at the Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Physics (Electrical) from the Royal Military College of Canada in 1992 and completed his PhD in Electrical Engineering at the University of Victoria in 2001. He has a strong commitment to teaching, as evidenced by multiple awards, including the Schulich School of Engineering Teaching Achievement Award in 2018 and the Engineering Student Society Excellence in Teaching Award in 2014. His teaching excellence has also been recognized through several awards for outstanding performance and contribution to student engagement. He has contributed to the engineering field through service and has received notable accolades, including the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society S.A. Schelkunoff Prize Paper Award in 2011. Michael remains active in fostering an exemplary educational environment for his students at the University of Calgary.
