Biography

Michael Punsoni is an Associate Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Brown University Warren Alpert Medical School, where he also serves as the Director of Autopsy Services and Director of Ophthalmic Pathology. He is a Staff Neuropathologist at Lifespan Academic Center and is board certified in Anatomic Clinical Pathology and Neuropathology by the American Board of Pathology. Dr. Punsoni completed his Internal Medicine Internship at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, followed by a Pathology Residency at New York University Langone Hospital-Long Island and a Neuropathology Fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital-Brown University. He has received multiple teaching awards for his commitment to education, including the Ronald DeLellis Mentoring Award from Brown University. Dr. Punsoni is an active member of the American Association of Neuropathologists, contributing to various committees and serving as Chair of the Website Design Digital Technologies Committee. He has lectured nationally and internationally on topics related to brain tumors, dementia, ophthalmic pathology, and autopsy-related cases. His involvement in multiple grant-supported research projects focuses on investigating the pathophysiology of brain tumors and neurodegenerative disease-related biomarkers.
