Michael Saiger is currently a Research Assistant in Mental Health & Wellbeing at the University of Glasgow. He is involved in projects focusing on the feasibility of effective, fast, embedded clinical tools for broader NHS use, as well as evaluating user experience in game-based approaches to attachment assessments. Saiger completed his undergraduate degree in Game Design Production Management at Abertay University in 2015 and obtained a master’s degree in Digital Health and Wellness from the University of Strathclyde in 2017. His career also includes experience in the video game industry, where he worked as a designer and quality assurance tester, eventually taking on roles in quality assurance consultancy and project management in digital technology. He is currently pursuing a PhD in intelligent games and games intelligence (iGGi) scholarships, collaborating with both the University of York and Queen Mary University London. His research interests include digital tools in the sector, user experience methods evaluation, game-based solutions, co-design, patient and public involvement (PPIE), inclusive methodologies, and interaction design.
