Biography

Michael Saini joined the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto in 2008 as an Assistant Professor and currently holds the endowed Factor-Inwentash Chair in Law and Social Work. He is also the Co-Director of the Combined J.D./M.S.W. program at the Faculty of Law. Michael’s research focuses on the intersections of law and social work, particularly in relation to the advancement of children's and families' well-being within legally governed systems. His scholarship has contributed significantly to the understanding of co-parenting assessments, complexities in parent-child relationships, the impact of interparental conflict, and the use of technology in supporting these relationships. He has authored over 200 publications, including books, book chapters, government reports, and peer-reviewed journal articles. In 2019, he received the Stanley Cohen Distinguished Research Award from the Association of Family Conciliation Courts.
