Michael Stewart Scott Morton is the Jay W. Forrester Professor of Management (Emeritus) at the MIT Sloan School of Management. He is known for his significant contributions to Corporate Strategy, having joined the MIT faculty in 1966. His early work laid the groundwork for what became known as Decision Support Systems, enhancing how managers utilize interactive computer systems to aid decision-making. Throughout his career, he has authored and co-authored eight books and numerous articles, focusing on the intersection of engineering and management. Besides his academic involvement, Scott Morton has been an active angel investor and has served on several corporate boards. He has five children and enjoys splitting time between Boston and Argyll, Scotland.
