Michael J. Tuite graduated summa cum laude from Saint John Fisher College in Rochester, NY, in 1983. He earned the Eastman Kodak Scholar Award, the Math Sciences Award, and the President’s (Valedictorian) Award. He then matriculated at Harvard Medical School, graduating in 1987. Dr. Tuite joined the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics as a Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellow in 1992 and joined the faculty in 1993. By 1995, he became the Medical Director of Outpatient Radiology General Imaging, and in 1997 he served as the Continuing Medical Education Course Director for the UW Radiology Practical Imaging Intervention Conference. He became Chief of the Musculoskeletal Radiology Section in 2004. He has received numerous accolades, including the Outstanding Teacher Award and the Picker-Association of University Radiologists’ Academic Faculty Development Award. Dr. Tuite serves on several committees within the Department of Radiology and on editorial boards for academic journals. He is a peer reviewer for multiple journals and has published extensively, contributing 48 journal articles, 3 book chapters, and participating in 70 national and international presentations. His research interests include shoulder imaging, MR sports injuries, and musculoskeletal interventional radiology.
