Dr. Michael Vock

Biography

Michael Vock is a lecturer and director of studies in Statistical Data Science at the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Bern. His research interests primarily focus on statistical methodology, particularly in measurement error and agreement studies, nonparametric testing, and sampling methods. Vock has authored several publications addressing statistical practice and theory, with particular emphasis on methods of analyzing agreement measurements and advanced inference techniques. He is experienced in teaching various statistical courses including linear models and categorical data analysis, while actively coordinating the statistical consulting service offered by the Institute. Vock has also been involved in numerous conferences and has a significant editorial role in the field of biometrics. He earned his doctorate for his thesis on multivariate statistical inference methodologies, which has led to impactful contributions in the realm of statistical research, particularly in nonparametric methods and their applications in practical data analysis.
