Michael Weber joined the Daniels School of Business at Purdue University in 2025 as a Professor of Finance. He is a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and is involved in various research groups focusing on Monetary Economics and Asset Pricing. Additionally, he serves as a Research Affiliate for the Monetary Economics Fluctuations programme at CEPR and is a member of the Macro Finance Society, as well as a Research Professor at the Ifo Institute within the CESifo Research Network. He has received four National Science Foundation grants and the Humboldt Professorship, a prestigious and highly endowed research prize in Germany. His research on downside risk in currency markets and asset classes was recognized with the 2013 AQR Insight Award. Weber has published numerous articles in leading economics and finance journals, including the American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, Econometrica, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Financial Studies, and Journal of Financial Economics.
