Biography

Michael Wells is a Professor of Practice at Imperial College Business School and a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)). He serves as a Board Member of the UK Endorsement Board (UKEB), which plays a pivotal role in influencing and endorsing new international accounting standards by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) for UK companies. His professional contributions extend to being a consultant for the World Bank Group, where he works to deepen the understanding of international financial reporting requirements and build capacity among entities to make, audit, and regulate the necessary judgments for compliance reviews of corporate financial statements. Throughout his career, he has led the IASB's International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Education Initiative and has been actively involved with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) as a member of the IAESB Consultative Advisory Group (CAG). Additionally, he has contributed to the American Accounting Association (AAA) as a member of the Membership Advisory Committee and the AAA Education Committee.
