Biography

Michael C. Williams is a Full Professor at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Ottawa. His research interests focus on International Relations theory, security studies, and political thought. He co-authored the book 'Security State: Private Security International Politics' published by Cambridge University Press in 2011, and has published works such as 'Realist Tradition Limits International Relations' and 'Culture Security: Symbolic Power Politics International Security'. Williams has contributed articles to esteemed journals including the European Journal of International Relations and the International Organization. Before joining the University of Ottawa, he served in the Department of International Politics at Aberystwyth and was a visiting fellow at universities in Cape Town, Copenhagen, Sydney, and the European University Institute in Florence.
