Biography

Michael Zäh is a Professor of Machine Tools and Production Technology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). He graduated in mechanical engineering from TUM and obtained his doctorate in 1993 under the supervision of Professor Milberg at the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (IWB). From 1994 to 1995, he served as Chief Engineer and Department Head at a leading institution in machine tools production technology, working under Professor Reinhart. After a brief period in the private sector, where he held management positions in a machine tool manufacturing company, he returned to academia as a professor at TUM in 2002. His research interests lie in machine tools, generative production methods, production technology, and cognitive engineering systems. Professor Zäh has published extensively on topics related to manufacturing technology and has contributed significantly to the field of machine tool performance and production efficiency.
