Biography

Michaela Devries-Aboud is an Associate Professor in the Kinesiology Health Sciences department at the University of Waterloo. Her research focuses on intramyocellular lipids (IMCL) and their relation to insulin sensitivity in obese individuals and athletes. She is particularly interested in the localization of IMCL within muscle fibers and its co-location with mitochondria, aiming to understand their roles in fat metabolism and differences in insulin sensitivity.
