Dr. Michaela Gummerum

Biography

Michaela Gummerum is an Associate Professor and Reader in Psychology at the University of Warwick. Her research interests focus on the development of decision-making, emphasizing an interdisciplinary and cross-cultural applied perspective. Gummerum's work explores the social, cognitive, and emotional factors that influence decision-making across various domains, including moral and risky decisions. She studies diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, as well as special groups such as offenders and individuals with disabilities, examining how these factors affect their ability to make decisions, particularly in online environments and health contexts. Gummerum is also involved in supervising PhD and MSc research degrees in related areas, and she serves as an Associate Editor for the British Journal of Developmental Psychology.
