Biography

Michaela MacDonald is a Teaching Fellow at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS) and a Lecturer at the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London. She teaches subjects including Interactive Entertainment Law, Artificial Intelligence Law, Robotics Law, Cybersecurity Law, and Product Development within both undergraduate and LLM distance learning programs. She holds a PhD in Law from CCLS at Queen Mary University. Michaela's main research interests focus on the legal and regulatory societal effects of disruptive technologies. She is involved in projects examining the legal and regulatory implications of cloud computing through The Cloud Project at CCLS and investigating the legality of smart contracts in the Lloyd's insurance market, as well as computational creativity in video games. Additionally, Michaela works as a consultant at Moorcrofts LLP, collaborating on projects that focus on the legality of data text mining activities, Open Source licenses, and contract automation.
