Biography

Dr. Okoniewski received his MSc and PhD from Gdansk University of Technology (Poland) and completed post-doctoral training at the University of Victoria. He has published over 100 journal articles and 300 conference papers. He served as Chief Scientist and Director at Acceleware. His research interests encompass applied electromagnetics, specifically in computational electrodynamics, reflectarrays, self-configuring antennas, and re-configurable computational hardware. Additionally, he is actively involved in bio-electromagnetics, focusing on tissue spectroscopy for cancer detection. Over the years, he has utilized electromagnetic and radio frequency (RF) energy for enhanced oil recovery and has authored several patents. Dr. Okoniewski's significant projects include developing micro-scale chips for Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) devices, often used in spectroscopy, and the integration of graphical processing units (GPUs) in computational electromagnetics, which has transformed academic codes into commercial applications. His work involves creating novel antenna designs and improving large-scale antennas for enhanced oil recovery applications.
