Biography

Michel Eppink has over 35 years of experience in the field of Downstream Processing of large biomolecules, specifically proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates. From 2014 to 2024, he was a part-time full professor at Wageningen University, overseeing PhD candidates researching biorefinery technologies. Beginning in 2024, he took on a role as a Special Professor at TU Delft’s Department of Biotechnology, specializing in Industrial Biopharmaceutical Downstream Processing. His research aims to enhance the efficiency and quality of biopharmaceutical production processes while exploring sustainable practices within the biobased economy. Education plays a crucial role in his position, as he lectures on bioprocess design and downstream processing at various universities, including TU Delft and Wageningen University.
