Biography

Michel Sabourin is among the most renowned Canadian psychologists. His reputation is the result of his research, his efforts to introduce a new sub-discipline in Quebec, and his leadership roles in national and international professional organizations. He taught at the University of Montreal from 1970 to 2010, served as the head of the Department of Psychology, and was a member of the management committee of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences from 2004 to 2006. His work on tonic immobility and neuropsychology of states of consciousness has been noteworthy.
