Michele Crotti obtained a PhD in Industrial Chemistry from Politecnico di Milano, Italy, in 2018. During his doctoral studies, he worked under the supervision of Prof. Francesco G. Gatti and Prof. Brenna, focusing on the development of chemo- multi-enzymatic cascade processes for the stereoselective synthesis of chemicals and drugs. In January 2022, he joined University College London as a lecturer in Chemical Sustainability, funded by a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship, to work on directed evolution of methyltransferase enzymes. In December 2023, he started his independent career as a lecturer and principal investigator of the new interdepartmental entity "Manufacturing Futures Lab" at UCL.
