Biography

Michele Del Zotto received his PhD in 2013 from SISSA in Trieste. Afterward, he worked as a research fellow at Harvard University from 2013 to 2016, and subsequently as a research assistant professor at the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics in Stony Brook, NY from 2016 to 2018. He joined Uppsala University as a lecturer and has held positions at Durham University in the UK. His research focuses on the interface of quantum field theory and string theory, particularly the development of new tools for understanding non-perturbative systems. He is the principal investigator for an ERC consolidator grant concerning higher structure symmetries and is engaged with the Simons Collaboration on Global Categorical Symmetries, contributing to various international seminars and workshops.
