Biography

Michele L. Malvesti is a visiting professor of practice at the University of Texas, where she teaches best practices in decision-making. She serves as Vice President at the Financial Integrity Network and has previously held the position of Professor of Practice at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Dr. Malvesti worked for five years on the National Security Council during the George W. Bush Administration in the role of Senior Director for combating terrorism strategy. She returned to the White House in 2009 to co-chair a presidential study review that reformed the White House organization for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism on behalf of the Obama Administration. She has been involved with various boards and institutes, including serving on the Director’s Advisory Board for the National Counterterrorism Center and as a member of the Editorial Board for the Army Cyber Institute's Cyber Defense Review. Dr. Malvesti holds a PhD in International Relations and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from Tufts University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with highest distinction, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
