Michele G. Shedlin is a medical anthropologist and Professor Emerita at NYU Meyers College of Nursing. She has extensive experience in qualitative research relating to reproductive health, substance abuse, and HIV/AIDS across multiple regions including Africa, Latin America, and the United States. Dr. Shedlin has designed and implemented behavioral studies at various community and national levels to inform and evaluate prevention and care strategies. She played a founding role in the Meyers Faculty Council and has served in various advisory capacities including the Deputy Director of the Collaborating Center for Gerontologic Nursing and on the Cross University Faculty Forum. Notably, she also chaired the Council on Ethics and Professional Responsibility at NYU Meyers School of Dentistry. Prior to her time at NYU, she led her own research consulting firm and was a faculty member at Columbia University School of Public Health, contributing to vital public health initiatives. In 2013, she was recognized as a Senior Fulbright Scholar at the University of Szeged.
