Biography

Before joining Penn State Dickinson Law, Professor Vollmer served as senior counsel in the Division of Enforcement at the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission. In 2006, she received an award from the Department of Justice for her contributions to the Enron Task Force's criminal prosecutions. She represented the Commission in litigation and appellate matters at the SEC’s Office of General Counsel. Prior to her time at the SEC, she was a partner at a law firm practicing commercial litigation. Professor Vollmer currently directs the Veterans Servicemembers Legal Clinic. She has previously taught courses such as Civil Pretrial Practice & Advocacy and Veterans Benefits Law, and created and taught the law school’s Explore Law program. Additionally, she helped develop and taught an online course for foreign-trained lawyers, Introduction to Common Law Analysis and Language. Professor Vollmer has served as a Board Member of the National Law School Veterans Clinic Consortium and as a consultant for the College of Liberal Arts’ online Law Society undergraduate major at Penn State.
