Dr. Michelle Aebersold

Biography

Michelle Aebersold is a Clinical Professor and Academic Program Director at the University of Michigan's School of Nursing and Clinical Associate Professor at the School of Information. A Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, she possesses extensive experience in healthcare education, leveraging various simulation learning methods, including Extended Realities, to enhance patient care and caregiver training. She has developed the Simulation Model to Improve Learner Health Outcomes (SMILHO). Her primary research interests lie in Simulation, XR-Mixed Reality, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Serious Games, Quality and Safety in Healthcare, and Teamwork and Communication Training. She is also recognized for her contributions to nursing simulation and clinical laboratories, having received several honors including Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing in 2015 and Excellence in Research from the Midwest Nursing Research Society in 2016.
