Biography

Michelle Albaugh is a highly regarded leadership effectiveness coach who joined the MS Learning Organizational Change (MSLOC) faculty in September 2015. She earned her PhD in Human Development and Social Policy from the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University. Prior to her academic career, she spent nearly ten years working in the start-up telecommunications industry, where she focused on establishing client relationships and crafting creative communication solutions for businesses and government. This experience sparked her interest in leadership, development, and organizational change. Her work as a full-time research assistant with sociology professor Kathy Edin furthered her research pursuits, leading to her PhD at Northwestern. Albaugh's research interests center on the intersection of life narratives, personal faith, and political ideology, and she has collaborated with Professor Dan McAdams to study how committed Christians, both politically liberal and conservative, narrate their lives. As a teacher, she co-teaches a variety of MSLOC courses and serves as a Capstone Advisor facilitating the Organizational Leadership Coaching Certificate Program. In her personal life, she is married to entrepreneur Terry, and they have two children, Samantha and Joshua, who help keep her life in perspective.
