Biography

Michelle Bovin is an Associate Professor in the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine at Boston University, specializing in Psychiatry. She holds a PhD from Temple University, an MA from Claremont Graduate University, and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Bovin's research interests are focused on trauma-informed care and the development and validation of assessment tools for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). As a co-chair of the PTSD Special Interest Group of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, she encourages diversity and inclusion in mental health research, particularly highlighting the needs of BIPOC populations in relation to PTSD. Dr. Bovin is also involved in ongoing assessments of service reliability and conducts discussions on issues of diversity in PTSD.
