Biography

Michelle Elizabeth Yael Braunschweig is a board-certified family medicine physician and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. She provides care for individuals of all ages, welcoming patients from newborns to older adults. Her goal is to help individuals achieve the highest possible quality of health and life. Her special interests encompass children's health, women's health, and mental health. After growing up in San Jose, CA, Dr. Braunschweig earned her PhD in musicology from the University of California, Berkeley, prior to attending medical school. Her interest in women's health motivated her to work as a volunteer birth doula at San Francisco General Hospital, which inspired her passion for maternal and child health and her journey to becoming a physician. Outside of her clinical practice, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking plant-based meals, swimming, and exploring the beautiful Bay Area.
