Biography

Michelle completed her Bachelor of Science with honors in Biology at Saint Francis Xavier University in 2011. She then attended the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island, graduating in 2015. After graduation, Michelle completed a large animal rotating internship at the Ontario Veterinary College. During this time, her passion for reproduction, specifically theriogenology, flourished, leading her to continue as a DVSc student in Theriogenology. Michelle successfully completed the theriogenology board certification examination with her DVSc in 2019. Following her graduation, she worked as a small animal Theriogenologist in a local private practice. In the 2021-2022 academic year, she taught veterinary students remotely at OVC, further developing her passion for teaching. Michelle’s research interests include equine and canine endometritis, the effects of microbiota on fertility, and identifying risk factors that impact reproductive microbiota. The Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph is globally recognized for advancing veterinary medicine and health research, aiming to improve the health of animals, people, and the planet.
